I believe that the source of corporate value is neither facilities nor systems. In the end, it is people. That is why at INA&Associates we use the term “human capital” rather than simply “workforce,” making clear that we view people not as a cost, but as an investment.
Why invest in people now?
The more uncertain the times become, the more situations arise that cannot be handled through manuals alone. What sets one company apart is whether it has people who can understand each client’s context, organize complex issues, and steadily build trust. Short-term efficiency alone cannot create an organization that continues to be chosen over time.
What human capital investment includes
Investing in people is not only about increasing training budgets. It also includes clarifying roles, providing opportunities to take on challenges, creating an environment where people can learn from failure, and continuing appropriate dialogue. What is needed is a structure in which individual growth and company growth move in the same direction.
The connection to culture
Human capital investment cannot stand on systems alone. It depends on sincerity, a long-term perspective, and a commitment to continuous learning being rooted in the organization’s culture. If the culture remains weak and only the initiatives increase, people cannot grow with confidence.
INA’s challenge
We want to be a company that does not use people merely to expand the business, but one in which the business grows as a result of expanding people’s potential. We believe that choosing not to postpone investment in people ultimately becomes the strongest management decision.
