Leadership and Growth — Continuing to Learn as a Business Leader

Daisuke Inazawa, Representative Director, shares his perspective on leadership. What kind of mindset is required of leaders in an era of change?

About 1 min read

Leadership is not something that is complete the moment you receive a title. Rather, the real difference lies in how continuously you keep learning after taking on a role. Business owners and managers alike need to keep updating their way of thinking in response to change.

What Growing Leaders Have in Common

The stronger the leader, the less they rush to answers, and the more carefully they look at both voices from the front lines and the numbers. It is important not to rely only on past success, but to reframe the right questions as the environment changes. A commitment to continuous learning also shapes the atmosphere of the entire organization.

Leadership Is Defined by Daily Actions

Listening to team members through to the end, sharing the reasons behind decisions, and remaining sincere even in difficult situations. The accumulation of these actions leads to trust. A leader’s role is not only to speak about principles, but to demonstrate them through everyday conduct.

What Must Be Let Go of for Growth

The more experience we gain in management and leadership, the more likely we are to accumulate assumptions such as “this is how it used to be.” That is precisely why it is essential to make time to question our own premises and take in new insights and the perspectives of others. Learning is not only about adding knowledge; it is also about renewing outdated assumptions.

At INA, we see leadership not as an individual trait, but as something to be cultivated within the organization. When business leaders themselves continue to learn, that example becomes the strongest message for encouraging the growth of the next generation.
